News From the Recent Silent Hill Transmission. The Silent Hill Transmission event that aired on October 19th featured lots of new games set in the Silent Hill franchise. Some of these games include Silent Hill 2 Remake, a PS5 console-exclusive (that’s also coming to PC) from Bloober Team, and Silent Hill: Ascension, which is a new take on the Silent Hill universe directed by J. J. Abrams. Another title shown at this event was Silent Hill: Townfall. This game from Annapurna Interactive is the next new Silent Hill title. Past that, it’s unclear what this game will look like, but we’ll learn more about it early next year. A new video game film adaptation, Return to Silent Hill, was also announced. Resident Evil Village Gold Edition , the survival horror game from Capcom, is getting a Winter expansion. Mercenaries: Additional Orders, new story DLC, and other additions will be included in this expansion. Players can take on the roles of Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, Chris Redfield, and Karl Heisenberg in the new Mercenaries mode. The highlight of this expansion, however, is the Shadows of Rose story DLC. The narrative of this DLC will center on Rose and will be a continuation of the main campaign. From a third-person perspective, you’ll play as Rose as she enters the "consciousness of the Megamycete," a place where "time and space are warped beyond recognition." Trifox is an action-platformer game from Glowfish Interactive. I’ve finished this game with 78% completion. In this game, a fox finds his TV remote missing when he gets home following a burglary. This multi-talented creature then sets out on a mission to retrieve his remote and bring peace back to his house. The story, while not being one of the game's focuses and not something that blew me away, filled the gaps between gameplay well and was charming from beginning to end. The game set out to recreate a Mascot-era platformer, and it did a wonderful job of doing so. It is not as polished and refined as other games in the genre, but once I got used to the controls, each jump felt good to execute. The platforming is only half of the gameplay, and the twin-stick shooter-style combat plays a big role as well. This combat feels good but does become repetitive fairly quickly if you don’t switch out loadouts occasionally. Sadly the enemies either were a breeze ...

This multi-talented creature then sets out on a mission to retrieve his remote and bring peace back to his house. Despite having many flaws, this action-platformer game is a good throwback to classic platformers from yesteryear. One of these flaws is the game's plot. While this cartoonish story is below average, it has a nice charm to it with the pantomime feel (due to the lack of voice-acting) and the addition of little slapstick gags. I chuckled out loud at a handful of these jokes. Despite being my favorite aspect of the story, the pantomime feel of the cutscenes didn't do an excellent job of conveying the characters' personalities. This teaser provides a little over two minutes of footage that gives solid glimpses into the upcoming movie. It begins with King Koopa (Jack Black) and his Koopa Army raiding the blue penguin's (from Mario 64) igloo castle. Mario (Chris Pratt) also makes an appearance, and well, he sounds very similar to Chris Pratt. You can watch the trailer yourself below. This film is led by Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri. Animation has almost wrapped up on the movie, then it's off to lighting. Miyamoto concurred with Chris Meledandri's statement that "We're excited to share even more footage in the coming months." Charles Martinet, who voices Mario in the games, will also appear in the movie in some capacity. The Super Mario Bros. Movie releases in theaters on April 7th, 2023. Are you excited about this movie?
