A new PlayStation State of Play is coming on June 2nd. Sony has announced that their next State of Play, which will focus on new game announcements and more, will stream on June 2nd at 6 p.m. Eastern (3 p.m. Pacific). According to the PlayStation Blog, the event will last 30 minutes and feature "exciting reveals from our third-party partners." Because the post makes no mention of first-party titles, it seems that we won't be hearing anything about God of War: Ragnarok or Marvel's Spider-Man 2 at this event. We will also get a "sneak peek" at PlayStation VR2 titles, according to Sony. Hopefully, we’ll get some exciting game announcements at this event, but in any case, we'll be recapping everything that was shown at the event. If you’d like to read more about the event, you can read our article about it here . The sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order Jedi: Survivor is coming in 2023. While there are no other details on what titles to expect, we can hope to see Horizon: Call of the Mountain, though it is feasible that it will not be shown due to the event's focus on third-party games. Either way, we’ll hear more about what games are coming to PlayStation’s next virtual reality headset. The last PlayStation State of Play was held in March, and it featured game announcements such as Exoprimal, Returnal Ascension, and Valkyrie Elysium. In an article that you can read here , we recapped everything announced at this event. Since this may be Sony's only appear...

What Ya Playing 05/25/22

Batman: Arkham Origins is an action-adventure game from WB Games MontrĂ©al. I finished the game and had a great time with it. I’m a major fan of the Arkham games and have finished all of the mainline titles except Arkham Knight, which I intend to play before Gotham Knights releases. While I still think both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are better games than Arkham Origins, there's a lot of fun to be had with this entry in the series. The game is a prequel to the other Arkham titles, and it follows a less experienced Batman who’s still learning about fighting crime. To begin the game, Black Mask places a bounty on Batman's head, enlisting the help of eight of the world's deadliest assassins in an attempt to eliminate the Dark Knight. I think the story is the best part of the game, even though I felt some things were overdone. The base concept of having to defeat eight killers before they assassinate you piqued my interest, and the game's prog...

Demake Video Shows What Horizon Zero Dawn Would've Looked like in the 90s

Image
The concept of demaking a video game isn't new, and many fans and creators have used it to create some remarkable videos and even full games. From the Game Boy Advance adaptation of Tomb Raider to the Atari 2600 demake of Portal. Doom, a 1993 PC game, has numerous ports and can now run on pretty much anything. Bloodborne PSX is one of the most popular demakes; it's the entire game of Bloodborne, but in a low-polygon PS1 aesthetic, similar to the demake we'll look at below. The newest demake concept is for the Sony published title Horizon Zero Dawn. The video showcasing this demake was created by ZeoNyph using Blender, a 3D graphics application that allows users to create and animate their own content. The game was recreated to look as if it was designed for the PlayStation 1 in the 1990s. The clip even begins with the PlayStation's original splash screen. After the opening, we follow Aloy as she travels beyond a bonfire and gets caught by a Watcher. This mach...

Dead Space Remake set for release in January

Image
Originally revealed in July 2021, The Dead Space Remake from EA promises to bring diehard fans and newcomers alike a new way to experience the horror classic. This remake will bring improved visuals, some slight changes to gameplay, and other small tweaks and changes that will improve the original title. Last Thursday, during a developer live stream, EA Motive (the game's developer) revealed the game's release date of January 27th. They went on to say that you should expect a “more substantial” look at the game this October, around Halloween. While I’ve never played Dead Space and probably won’t play this remake, I’m excited for the horror fans out there who will get to play or replay this classic with a fresh coat of paint. The Dead Space Remake is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on January 27th, 2023. Are you excited about this remake? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading and Game On!!
